With a background in philosophy (MA, 2001) and fine art (BFA, 2007), and a love for graphic novels, it’s almost a matter of course that I end up with my first graphic philosophical novel.
Savior is my answer to my childhood, the current state of the world, and my daughter’s future. It’s what needs to be said before I can start with all the other stories that want to burst out of my head. It gives a truthful answer to one of the paradoxes of life: why do evil and pain exist in the degree they do, and how can we deal with them without becoming a part of the problem ourself.
The last ten years I shook up the Amsterdam police force as a visual philosopher, advised politicians towards a stronger social focus, and stood on stage as a comedian. Momentarily I’m working as a strategic advisor within local government and try to be the best father and husband I can be.
